FOR BEGINNERS AND INTERMEDIATES
10am - 5pm
Join us in the studio for this introduction to silver jewellery making.
This class is aimed at complete beginners and those with a little more experience, who wish to improve their silversmithing skills.
During the day you will be expertly guided through the design process and all the traditional silversmithing techniques you will need. Along the way you will learn how to cut, shape, file and solder silver, to create a unique and professional piece of silver jewellery.
Students new to silversmithing will get the chance to make a hammered or textured silver ring and usually a secondary project of your choice in the afternoon such as a pendant. For those with a little more experience you will get the opportunity to work on a more complex design of your choosing or your own small jewellery project. But if you don't know what you want to make yet then we can help with the design process on the day!
All day classes run from 10am - 5pm and are held at our studio in Walthamstow.
Making jewellery can be messy so please don't wear your best clothes! And for Health and Safety reasons please wear sturdy footwear that covers your feet - i.e. no sandles, leather boots or shoes are best.
If you need reading glasses please bring them along, as we will be working on tiny things.
The cost of the class includes 10g of silver which is enough for about three rings. However if you want to make bangles ect. you are welcome to buy extra silver from us at trade price. Most students don’t use more than £10 extra worth of silver. Please bring some cash if you intend to make chunky jewellery.
Booking Terms
If for any reason you are unable to attend one of our classes you are welcome to send someone in your place, but unfortunately we cannot offer transfers or any refunds. On rare occasions details of Made By Ore classes or events may be changed without notice. If these changes adversely affect a class that you have already booked, in this instance, you will be able to change to a different class or receive a refund.
